sichuan's garden waltham

Since it's pretty convenient trip from my house, I'd love to know if take-out from here would work in a pinch. The menu looks pretty standard Americanized Chinese, but if the quality is decent, sometimes that's not a terrible thing when in need of comfort food. Any reports?

If you're looking for a variation on theme just down the street in Waltham go to Elephant Walk for Cambodian takeout ...

After a mildly traumatic day, in need of comfort food, and before reading hargau's first response, we decided to take a risk since the place is so convenient. The alarming, scary-looking complimentary neon pink dipping sauce and fried wontons said it all. I'll deal with traffic and parking and head to Beijing Star or head to Belmont.

I would go to Beijing Star instead.

honestly, just about anything in waltham i think would be better then S.G.. The takeout joint "dragon chef" on moody street has been there for at least 30 years and does consistant americanized fare if thats what you want.

When i lived in the area years ago, i used to go. Usually for the buffet but also for just menu items. It was average at best back then (6-7 years ago!)... I recently went again in the past year cause i was in the area and found it really quite bad. I think there are better choices in Waltham

Agree. I recently moved into the neighborhood, and tried it a couple months ago. Terrible.
