MSP -- Restaurants open on Christmas morning?

Does anyone know of any? Thanks!

  1. Common Roots Cafe on Lyndale will be open Christmas Day. Not really a restaurant per se for a nice meal but if you need soup and bagels...

    1. I know from being around last Christmas that many coffeshop/cafe's were open on Christmas (Wilde Roast in our hood).

Also, bars were open. The Spring St Tavern in our neighborhood again.

      1. One tip I have for dinning out on holidays is to check with restaurants that are in hotels. The St. Paul Grill for instance. Most, (not all), of them stay open to feed their guests...

Good luck and let us know what you find

        1. Yeah, hotels are a good bet. Another idea: Somali or Middle Eastern restaurants. I'm thinking that perhaps places serving mostly Muslim patrons just might be open on Christmas day. Call Safari and ask! (They've got great food.)

          1. I know it sounds a bit stereotypical and more than a little cliche but what about one of the many great Chinese restaurants here in the cities? I'm sure more than a handful of them will be open on Christmas.

Yes, most Chinese places are open on Christmas. Someone has to feed us Jews that day. :)

Yangtze in St. Louis Park has a sign up that they'll be serving Dim Sum on Christmas day. Jun Bo usually does Dim Sum every day, so you might want to check with them as well. (Yangtze's Dim Sum is much improved from the past, although probably not in the top tier with Mandarin Kitchen and Jun Bo)
