Rest. gift certificate ideas

Every year my team (on the East Coast) gives a gift certificate to our boss (in San Fran) as a holiday gift. We've done The Slanted Door a couple times and last year Roy's.
We'd like to do it again this year, but are looking for a new place, and not being even remotely from that area, need some help.
Any type of food is ok, like to stick in the price range/quality of Slanted Door.

I think Open Table does gift certificates, then he can use it in a number of restaurants. Also American Express does gift certificate travelers checks that can be spent in any establishment that takes the Amex card.
