Mastercard 2-for-1 Dining Promotion
My boyfriend came across this promotion from Mastercard. Basically you filled out some form on-line and it said you would get a voucher for 2-for-1 dining at a bunch of restaurants nationwide. So we filled this out and forgot about it, several weeks later we got the vouchers (each of us got one) and it had a website with how to redeem it. (basically you went to a site typed in the number off of it and then put in your ZIP code to get the restaurants.) There were two restaurants that were geographically convienent for us. One was a Greek restaurant and one was a diner. Neither are particularly expensive. We decided to the Greek restaurant based on reviews (both on here and from some friends). As we ordered we gave our waitress the voucher (like it said to do.) She had clearly never seen it before and said she didn't think the restaurant accepted them. We told her that the website specifically listed this place. She would check with her manager and get back to us. We told her to go ahead and put our order in since we are planning on eating there either way. Apparently they had a computer in the back so they were able to go the website on it and find themselves listed so they decided to take it. The waitress commented on how it was odd that the promotion was from Mastercard since they dont take credit cards at all. We agreed that it seemed odd and we hadnt made that connection. I went home and looked at the website and the only other restaurant listed in our area also does not take credit cards. It seems odd that the only two restaurants in our area are two that dont take credit cards from a Mastercard promotion. Anyone else use this anywhere else?
