Chicken Feet at Joy Luck/Oakland

Attn. Chow Fun - had the best chicken feet at Joy Luck a few days ago .... just about perfect: the texture was almost fluffy, cooked so that all the skin and cartilege came off easily and the seasoning had a little bit of heat to it and was very savory. Yum. Noticed that the place next door, Yo Ho - I think it's called - had a change of ownership notice up in the window.
The service at Joy Luck was amazingly friendly and helpful. We had a very nice lunch and it was about $20 for 4 of us.

Joy Luck also has the best dry beef chow fun in the neighborhood.

I had some wonderful chicken feet that fit your description at the restaurant on Noriega that still has the English sign Hong Kong Seafood Restaurant, but that goes by the name Tai Wu in Chinese. I really like this place for dim sum. The food has definitely improved since new owners took over.

Here's a link to the regular (not the dim sum, set meal or banquet) menu

Tai Wu must be a name from a past life. By the characters, it's actually "Tai Hu," which implies Shanghai region cuisine, but there's not a hint of that on the menu. Lettuce cups? That's Hong Kong cuisine in spades.

YUM! Thanks Gordon...I think our East Bay Lunch group should give it a try...(as long as I don't get plates of scalding chicken feet dumped on my back! A short but painful story!)

yes.. Joy Luck is both good and cheap. I think most dim sum dishes are under $2. it might not be Peony, Legendary Palace or East Ocean standard.. but good bang for the buck.
