Knife Sharpening in Norfolk, VA?

Anyone know where I could go in Norfolk/Virginia Beach/surrounding areas to get my knives sharpened? Thanks in advance!

  1. I'm nowhere near Norfolk, but in Athens, GA, the local Kroger's will sharpen knives. The butcher department does it on the same machines they use for their knives. Free of charge. None of the other grocery stores in Athens do this and the specialty gourmet shops that will have a charge. I have no idea if this is a nationwide service or just something I'm lucky to have at my local. Couldn't hurt to call and ask.

    1. You may want to call and ask Williams Sonoma in Macarthur Center. I know some of them do, but maybe not every location.

Thanks, I'm actually going to the mall today so I will ask when I'm over there!

      2. It's been a while since I lived there, but there used to be a place out toward Pungo that had a sign saying they sharpened knives. I'll try to remember the name of the road and post it.

        1. The butchers at Farm Fresh supermarket will sharpen your knives.

          1. Officially the grocery stores will do it...but they make you leave your knives and won't get it done til the next day typically. There is a place in Franklin, VA if you are driving through there for any reason. Did you have any luck with Williams Sonoma?

            1. I finally remembered to bring my knives with me when I went to Franklin on biz. The knive sharpening place is on US58 just west of the Franklin exits behind the food lion. The did a great job in less than 10 minutes for less than $2 a knife. I highly recommend them. The little farmers market right nearby is great as well.

              1. I am a knife sharpener located in norfolk Va. My name is Patrick contact me at 339-8184. If you still need your knives sharpened.

                1. Do NOT go to Kitchen Barn in VA Beach!!! They jacked my knives up! They were sharpened unevenly along both the edges and bottom of the blade. I heard Frank Spicer restaurant supply does good job but I'm hesitant to take them anywhere else.
