Tamales in Santa Cruz

Hi. I have some friends headed down to SC this weekend. When I lived there, I had a tamale lady that used to knock on our door on the weekends to deliver tamales by the dozen. Are there any mercados or taquerias that have good tamales by the dozen? Between Live Oak and Capitola would be best, but will consider others. Thanks.
Try La Esperanza market on 17th and Portola. I don't know if they sell them by the dozen, but it's worth a shot. Good luck!
El Rosal Bakery in Live Oak sounds like a good option. They are located in the shopping center (I forget the name) around 14th and E. Cliff Dr. I believe they only make tamales on the weekend, but I'm not sure so you could always call (better if someone can speak Spanish). I usually am able to get them around 11am-12noon on Sat. I've only been able to get chicken from them.
Another, more reliable option is a taqueria across from the Boardwalk called El Paisano. They have a few different kinds of tamales and parking should be good since it's low season.

A tamale lady comes our office every Tue and Th on the far westside. We finally caught up with her and begged her to come every week and now she does. Even provided food for an event with rice, beans and salsa and it was simply great. They are great and cheap at $1 each or 6 for $5. She comes at about 11am to the building at 2155 Delaware. If you want me to give her your number, so you can invite her over, I'd be happy to. We have her number somewhere and I'll post it if we can find it.
