Christmas Breakfast/Brunch on Oahu?

recovering_vegetarian Dec 4, 2007 08:07 PM

I'm looking for a restaurant that would be open for breakfast/brunch on Christmas day on Oahu, prefereably the east side (ie, Kailua) but I'm willing to travel. A nice ambiance and good food are essential, as are room to accomodate a party of six.

Thanks in advance!

Thanks for all your recs! I must say I kind of hate Big City, but Haleiwa Joe's is a great idea (I've never been there for breakfast.) Where is Koa Pancake House?

i think there are a couple of locations, you might want to google it. the one I have been to was across the street (more or less) from windward dodge in kaneohe.

You're right it's on Kahuhipa St. close to the intersection at Kamehameha Hwy.
Haleiwa Joe's is only open for brunch on Sundays which can be a nice thing to do.
I think the other KOA is in Aiea.

Check to see if Cinnamon's is open that day. Big City is better for lunch, always found their breakfast menu kinda weak. How about Koa Pancake House? They used to be really good (more Kaneohe than Kailua). Although it hasn't shown up in Chowhound, Haleiwa Joe's at Haiku (mauka of Kaneohe) gets good reviews, the setting is hard to beat.

I would have recommended the Big City Diner in Kailua but after a very bad experience with the one in Kakaako...

Forget it! Fry up some bacon and eggs at home...
