Years ago, when I was young enough to actually enjoy the amusement park hell that is Gladstone's in Malibu, I had their super thick, Johnson's Baby Aspirin-colored Shee Crab Chowder. My bowl alone probably had 4 sticks of butter and a bottle of sherry in it, but I've never forgotten it. Does anybody know if I can get this stuff anywhere else?

Years ago I ate this heart-stopping chowder at Paradise Cove Cafe in Malibu. Five or more licks to get the spoon clean. I checked their website and they still have it.

I've never heard of she crab chowder, what is it?

I was just wondering what you guys think is the best clam chowder in LA? White and red
recently I enjoyed the clam chowder at Walt's Warf-it was pretty good. Had some good thick and creamy at Opah in Aliso Viejo too but it was too dairy creamy, and too rich for me. As far as red goes the only place that comes to mind is the Crab Cooker in Newport Bch.

I had she-crab soup for the first time at the Harbor House restaurant at Seaport Village in San Diego. It was utterly to die for. I'm in Orange County, though, and am now searching for someplace a bit more local to get this amazing stuff.
