Chowish Lunch or Dinner by the Pacific Design Center?

  • 8

I haven't been up to LA in a while but will be at the Pacific Design center for business. Any new and notable eats closeby? We are looking for not too expensive food, and any type will do.

  1. Try the new Melrose Bar & Grill, a more casual and less expensive version of what used to be Doug Arango's.

    1. For lunch, we enjoy Urth Caffe in West Hollywood...closeby. They have a varied and interesting menu, leaning toward healthy and tasty, and wonderful coffees and other beverages...smoothies, teas, juices. If you go, try the pumpkin pie for dessert!

I second liu's recommendation of Urth Caffe on Melrose (walking distance of the PDC). Great choice.

        1. re: kermit

          Thanks for the applause, kermit!
We like Urth, and no matter what the tastes of the customer (vegetarian/non-vegetarian, young/old, coffee/tea/smoothie, etc.), there is something delicious for everyone!

      2. ISn't the Foundry there? On Melrose?

Also a good Pub, the Village Idiot, also on Melrose. Mozza Osteria and Pizzaria are on Melrose down a way. Kinda Expensive.

me, I'd go to Angeli Caffe. Good, affordable, nice.

        1. Good recommendations. I would add Vito's Pizzeria on La Cienega between Melrose and Santa Monica Blvd. Pizza, obviously, but they also have great calzone, sandwiches, pasta and desserts.

          1. Puck's new Red Seven is very good and located within the PDC building.

            1. Angeli Caffe would be my rec too!

MILK and BLD aren't far either, and are cheaper than Angeli Caffe.

Or, not new, but good, grab lunch at Michel Richard.
