Benedictine in San Francisco

My local (and excellent) shop doesn't carry Benedictine--and when I went on line BEvMo looked like it carried B&B under the name of Benedictine.

Is there a liquor shop in SF that carries it?

Thanks.

I find that I like B&B better. The additional brandy makes it less sweet, but more complex. Try it and you may find that you like it better as well.

The sole reason B&B exists as it does is that so many people were ordering a "Benedictine and Brandy," mixed, that the makers of Benedictine saw a business opportunity and blended the two together themselves!

You're absolutely right (IMHO), the brandy makes it less sweet and adds to the over complexity -- it's a great combination.

Thanks to everyone for the helpful suggestions. Clearly I have to go investigate some new shops in SF.

Benedictine is an herbal-based liquer. B&B is a blend of Benedictine & Brandy. They are not the same thing . . . exactly.

Every BevMo I know does carry Benedictine, but B&B is far more popular.

Aside from John Walker and K&L, you can also try The Jug Shop on Pacific, the San Francisco Wine Trading Co. (formerly "Mr. Liquor") on Taraval, or even the Marina Safeway . . . .

Have you tried the John Walker Wine Shop on Sutter Street in SF? You could also try K&L Wines on 4th Street.

I believe B&B is actually a combination of brandy and Benedictine.

The D&M wine/liquor shop (Fillmore@Sacramento) has Benedictine in stock. I was in there just an hour ago.
