Marge Dec 3, 2007 12:08 PM

Is this Thursday-Sunday (12/6,7,8,9). According to their ad, they will also have a limited selection of LeCreuset and Cuisinart, I have never seen that there before. They will also have knife sharpening for $1 per knife. They are located at 333 South Highland Ave (route 9) in Briarcliff Manor.

I went last year. Much less of a zoo than Henckels (which I missed this year). Also I didn't find anything that made me say "I need to buy this" as I often do at Henckels.

I agree, Mr B, but the Le Creuset and Cuisinart intrigues me, and since it is so much less of a zoo than Henckels (and I did go to Henckels this year, it was the most crowded I've seen yet), I may check it out.

I checked out the sale...except for knife sharpening, there was nothing special. Indeed the pieces of Le Creuset and All-Clad that they had were much cheaper at Bloomingdale's sales!

Thank you for reporting back. I was thinking I might stop by there on my way home but now I won't.

what would happen if I brought in henkel knives to be sharpened? Would that be too shameful??? Would they turn me away? Is it only for their own knives?

Nope, I did that last year, not a problem. They fixed a knick on my Henckel's santuko knife, and gave me some plastic sleeves to take them home in. Gotta love 'em! Only issue is, you may have to wait around, depending on their volume.

It was my 1st time at the sale and really liked it! Had 3 knives sharpened, they told me it would take 20 min which was just enough time to shop around. I got a Wusthof Grand Prix Tomato knife for $27.95 (minus 2.79, 10% off everything) and on cooking.com it's 44.95. They had some nice cookware, all about 50% off: Le Creuset dutch-oven, All-clad deep saute pan with lid, Calphalon 1 8qt stockpot. There was quite a varety of wooden cutting boards on sale from small slim ones to a handsome butcher block about 14 inches sq for about 12.50. I considered a Cuisinart ricecooker with steaming basket on top at $45 (normally $98), I got french wooden spoons and there were other good gift items: Cuisinart mini-chopper, 3 pc knife gift set..... There were also freebies: Emeril's Steak Rub and Emerils Steak Sauce complete with $00.00 price tag. For 50 cents I also got Emerils 3 1/2 minute knife skills video. Also some interesting things like a Lodge cast iron dutch oven. And of course knives, knives, knives! And a small selection of Henckel's knives. Not zoo-like at all and they people were very friendly.
