I'll be in Mesa AZ for a week in December. Seeking casual restaurants for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Moderate price range...interested in anything good...mexican, thai, middle eastern, pizza, breakfast, etc.

I have searched the board...any new recommendations? Thanks in advance.

Where will you be staying? Are you willing to travel? Mesa is pretty spread out - about 128 square miles so it would be helpful to have a bit more information. Also, there are bordering cities that have other options so your ability/willingness to travel will help us narrow our rec's.

Sorry for the delay...I will be spending half my time on the West side and half on the East side. Bordering cities ok as well.

      Thanks!

Below are my favorites on the west side of Mesa. I almost never venture east of Downtown Mesa, so I can't help with east Mesa at all.

Grill El Quetzal -- Guatemalan food
Asian Cafe Express -- Cantonese -- not fast food despite the name
Sweet Cakes Cafe -- Bakery and sandwiches in Downtown Mesa

Some favorites in Tempe from its Downtown east to the Mesa border:

        Haji-Baba -- Middle Eastern
Pita Jungle -- Middle Eastern / vegetarian
        Tasty Kabob -- Persian
        Khai Hoan -- Vietnamese
        Caffe Boa -- Italian-ish
Classic Italian Pizza -- full service restaurant -- not order by the slice

        Pita Jungle
        1250 E Apache Blvd Ste 113, Tempe, AZ 85281

Don't forget Dragonfly for Vietnamese, Banjarong for Thai, and if you're driving, downtown Chandler's array, including the wine bar and La Stalla.

Breakfast & lunch are a must at Crackers & Co. @ 1325 N Greenfield Rd
(NE corner of Brown & Greenfield). Red, White & Brew another must for dinner (u WILL take home leftovers) @ 6740 E Mcdowell Rd (corner NW corner of McDowell & Power Rd. ) Also D'Vine Wine Bar & Bistro @ 2837 N Power Rd (NE corner of McDowell & Power). I frequent all of these often. They all have patio seating if it ever stops raining.
