Orlando Salad Bars?
i've been so sad ever since the ruby tuesday's at fashion square mall closed...i loved their salad bar! the one at whole foods is too expensive; i end up spending $15, plus i cant go back for seconds! are there any great salad bars in the northeast orlando area? (winter park, baldwin park, casselberry, oviedo...)

When did Ruby Tuesday's close?
You're in luck, though. Mere blocks from the Fashion Square Mall, you have Sweet Tomatoes, in the shopping center on Colonial Drive with the Touchstar discount movie theater. Sweet Tomatoes is an all-you-can-eat salad bar and buffet, with delicious fresh soups, baked goods, pasta, fruit, and more, in addition to a very well-stocked salad bar. I think it's a bit pricey ($8 for adults, plus beverages are separate), but it's great if you're hungry, or if you want to eat a little healthier, or if you don't know exactly what you're in the mood for. They frequently introduce new menu items every month, usually with themes. Their strawberry lemonade is absolutely fantastic, too.
Here's their website for more information: http://www.sweettomatoes.com , and there is another location in Altamonte Springs, just west of I-4 on 436.

I agree! I've never had any bad experiences at Sweet Tomatoes-the salad bar is always stocked with fresh product. The soups can be either hit or miss, but generally pretty good. Plus you can build your own sundae....
They opened a Red Star Tavern at Fashion Square-I've never been to/heard of one before. All I know is that drinking and shopping do not mix well! (Or they mix too well, however you look at it)

I've never heard of it either, but here's their website:

Barney's Steak House on Hwy 50. Better than Ruby Tuesdays!! I also like Steak and Ale's salad bar. They make sure the plates are frozen and everything is fresh! Sonny's BBQ has a decent one but the quality can be hit and miss depending on the location. I will also second sweet tomatoes!

Haha, when I'm absolutely STARVING, I love to go to Sonny's and order the Big Deal (or sometimes even the all-you-can-eat barbecue specials), plus the salad bar as a side. It isn't bad at all, but Sweet Tomatoes probably has a better overall salad bar if you aren't in the mood for barbecue too.
