Dumplings with THIN wrappers?

Where's the best place to get delicious dumplings with VERY thin (think tisue paper!) wrappings? DH & I will be in NYC for our annual visit (my parents live in Queens) the end of this month, so I will also post this in the outer boroughs board. Looking for dumplings with see-thru wrappers. Thanks!

I think that most often, very thin skinned dumplings are called wontons on most menus.

I believe you are correct. Wonton skins are pretty thin; dumpling skins are thicker. I've never had the dumplings at Fong Inn, but that's my favorite place for the sool-duk (Korean name), those spongy slightly sweet rice cakes. I don't remember what they were called in Chinese.

That's the place. I buy sheets of fresh rice noodle to bring home and cook, and eat some of their nice hot turnip cake on my way home. There used to be a similar place on Canal near Broadway, but it's become a tourist tchotke shop.

I don't know if you're looking for a restaurant or to cook the dumplings at home, but I recently bought delicious shrimp and pork dumplings at a place on Mott south of Canal.... It's about one and a half blocks south of Canal on Mott, on the East side of the street. I don't know the name, but they sell fresh rice noodle and turnip cake (to go or to cook at home). The shrimp and pork dumplings (thin wrappers) were in their fridge or freezer, home made tasting and quite delicious.
