Romantic restaurants - Wicker Park?

hello - I have to say I am impressed with the restaurant knowledge on this site. I want to take my out of town boyfriend to the violet hour, and am looking for a romatic restaurant that is reasonably priced ($30-40/person) near there. I was thinking People Lounge; but are there any others? am open to all types of cuisines

My wife and I went to the People Lounge. I would suggest going somewhere else. It was pretty bad (although I think they have a new chef).

I would suggest Mas for the food...but it's a little loud. How about the West Town Tavern? It's a little bit south and east of Wicker Park.

I had a great date last week at Enoteca Roma 2146 W. Division. The vibe was just perfect for a date. It's rather cozy and romantic and the food was pretty good. The Mussels and polenta were standouts. The waitstaff and bartender were great.

You might consider that the romance isn't actually in the restaurant, but rather something you bring with you. That philosophical piece being said by a Bucktown resident, I am totally unfamiliar with People's Lounge, but heartily agree with Cafe Matou and Le Bouchon. You might also want to consider Hot Chocolate. The food is excellent and the deserts to die for. Besides, there's nothing like some great chocolate to get things going.

How about Cafe Matou or Bouchon? Both just a few blocks away.
