cheap eats near the met?

college kids headed for the met from ct, looking for reasonable lunch place nearby. adventurous eaters but some are vegetarians. suggestions? thanks

        Fig & Olive, a charming, small walk-down definitely caters to health oriented people and is in the upper E. 60's.
        You can google their menu and their commitment to healthy foods (for example, no butter is ever used, only olive oil) Food is delicious. Price is right.

          Uncanny! I suggested Fig and Olive to them, having been ther and enjoyed the small plates and tomato tart. They wound up and Sip Sak, a Turkinsh place at 49th and 2nd and the brand new Dean and Deluca on East 85th street,,,Thanks

      The cafeteria in the basement of the Met has decent food and a selection.

        I agree - and a lot of vegetarian options.
