Jonathan Gold inspired Mexican restaurant question [Split from LA Board]

Well if you are going in that direction... I would add a burger crawl at the Saturday morning Tianguis in Colonia La Loma Tlanemex... you go to one stand for you burger (worcestire in the patty, topped with carmelized onions & bacon pieces), the next stand over for the best potato chips you will probably ever have (fresh fried in rendered pork lard then sprinkled with lime juice, chile & salt)... grab a glass of fresh squeezed Valencia orange juice... munch down but save some room for the stand that fries up sugar donuts every 15 minutes or so.

Of course the cake goes to the Ciudad Satelite neighborhood as one of North America's burger meccas... lots of places with lots of good variations... I like Hamburguesas de Fuentes a couple of blocks from Plaza Satelite for their standard.... Ground Beef & Chorizo patty grilled over mesquite fire... with carmelized onions, grilled pineapple, roasted jalapenos etc.... as well as their "creation of the day".... particularly a mamoth of Ground Beef, Milanesa piled high, Grilled Mushrooms, slice of Queso Fresco & liberal dousing of Mole Rojo.... one more the Picadillo en Guajillo (kind of like a spicy Sloppy Joe)... great... that area (for some odd) reason has the greatest concentration of similar burger joints in DF.

Eat Nopal you torture me with this post! I dream about the one I mentioned on Rick B.'s show and now I have images of "...burger (worcestire in the patty, topped with carmelized onions & bacon pieces), ...the best potato chips you will probably ever have (fresh fried in rendered pork lard then sprinkled with lime juice, chile & salt)... a glass of fresh squeezed Valencia orange juice...the stand that fries up sugar donuts every 15 minutes or so...Ground Beef & Chorizo patty grilled over mesquite fire... with carmelized onions, grilled pineapple, roasted jalapenos etc...their "creation of the day".... particularly a mamoth of Ground Beef, Milanesa piled high, Grilled Mushrooms, slice of Queso Fresco & liberal dousing of Mole Rojo...the Picadillo en Guajillo (kind of like a spicy Sloppy Joe)..." Damm, sounds like heaven on earth!

I have no plans to be S of the border any time soon, my chow adventures are pretty much L.A./S.F. focused! One day though!
