        <content>A friend who thinks I'm knowledgeable about such things (and he's wrong) has asked me where to buy wild salmon, either fresh or frozen, in Manhattan. He looked at Fresh Direct and it's $20 per pound, but wonders if that's an outrageous price. Any advice here?

      <content>I think that's more than reasonable. Beware there was an article in the Times about a year ago(?) that tested the wild salmon at many of New York's fish purveyors to find out that most of them were selling farm-raised salmon (whether they knew it or not).</content>
