Who tried the little Italian spot...

Right across Lawrence Plaza, next to the Petro Canada station? The owner is the cook too. His stuffed canneloni are the very best. Even Mamma would blush with shame!

Mamma mia... I don't know but you can't miss it : It's right across Lawrence Plaza main entrance on Wilson, on the opposite side, west of the Petro Canada gas station. A little joint, nothing X-elegant, but you'll feel free to lick your fingers.

Hey Lamaranthe - Lawrence Plaza is at Bathurst/Lawrence. Since you mention a Petro Canada I think you mean Lawrence Square (Lawrence/Allan Rd) but I'm not absolutely sure since you mention Wilson which is nowhere near there.

Yes! My mistake. I meant Lawrence Square on Lawrence, East of Dufferin. Sorry!

I don't know the name. All I can say (once you find the place -- my apologies again) is that it is the only one of its kind, next door (West) or Petro Canada. If you find out, please let me know, with details.

there is a little plaza next to the petro Canada-there is a small roadhouse restaurant in there by the nams of "allens"-close to the name as the one on the Danforth-but it does not appear to be Italian -does any of this ring a bell?

Next time I pass by or drop in, I'll write down the name and tell you. Promised.

Lawrence Plaza is at the corners of Lawrence and Bathurst. Lawrence Square is at Lawrence and Dufferin.

Lawrence Square is the north part of the intersection of Lawrence West and Marlee Ave. The Petro Canada is on the SW corner of that intersection (with Sunoco on the SE corner).

The "allen" restaurant is "Allen Bar and Grill" that's just right beside the Petro Canada. I drive by there quite a bit and some of the restaurant in that strip seems a bit "shady". It would be nice to see a decent restaurant in this area thought :)

Aren't you smart ??? Would have a pic closer to Marlee and that gas station? Now we are all getting excited about this little ''road house'' (as it was qualified), but it is really worth the effort to find it. Unless, the owner disappeared or is not the cook anymore... That would be a real shame.

it could be an old photo and so one of those locations were taken over and redone. the only place missing in that image on the far left would be the allen's place. so unless you see it in the photo link, there's really not much else to discern it from short of a drive over thre.

I drive by that area almost daily (very close to home). There isnt anything between the Petro Canada and Allen. BTW, there is also nothing between Sunoco and the TTC (Lawrence West stop), except for the Country Style inside Sunoco.

Do you have any other clue to what the store name or how it looks? I can see if I can spot something the next few days when I drive by there.

As everyone's mom says" Don't judge a book by its cover". In this case it is true Allen Bar and Grill may look sketchy from the outside, heck it is even a little sketchy on the inside but you are missing out on some GREAT meals. It may not be fancy but it is really good home cooking, the eggs benedict is out of this world. I use to work near by and it was our go to lunch spot.
