Lunch: cheap noodle soup?

I work on 51st between 5th and 6th ave and am looking for nearby locations where I can get take-out udon soup or something similar (not looking for chicken noodle soup, anything asian is ok). I actually like the korean soup at cafe duke on 51st between 6th and 7th, but they charge $8 + tax, which is a little high for lunch. Anything for under $6 nearby? I'll even go up to $7. Obviously I want it to be tasty, but it need not be the best in the city, just conveniently located and well priced.

If you can walk 10 blocks. I'd hit yagura supermarket on 41st between 5th and madison. You can get beef/chicken udon soup for 5 - 6 bucks. Hing won like the above poster mentioned does chinese noodle soups.

A bit of a walk, but Mee Noodle House at 53rd and 9th has a great 'Vegetable and Cellophane Noodle Hot & Sour Soup. A large, which I can't even imagine finishing, will set you back $3.25. Be sure to adda little Red Chile Oil.
