Old Port Lobster Shack

I finally made it back to OPLS, my first visit since going there in February w/my friend from Maine. This time I took my son. The menu is much more expansive since they opened, more than double the number of offerings.

I had the Maine Lobster Roll ($17.75) again, and it was as wonderful as last Feb. Moist, tender pieces of lobster in a soft buttery roll--heaven! Served with fresh potato chips (thinner than last time, I think, and it seemed like a smaller portion too) and slaw, which has improved (I ate my son's slaw too). Son B had the Beer Battered Shrimp & Chips ($11.75)--with 10, count 'em, 10 wonderfully sweet jumbo shrimp and roasted potatoes. B graciously parted with 2 of his shrimp and I thought they weren't greasy, just perfect. B tasted my lobster roll and liked it enough to say he'd order it "when we come back." It was his first lobster roll ever, and B is hard to please, being a normal 19 year old mainly interested in pizza, hamburgers and fries.

Service was quick; our food was at our table barely 5 minutes after ordering. Russell (the owner) wasn't there tonight, and it seems he's added staff, as there were 2 young ladies manning the counter and running the food out. Both said a cheery "good night, thanks for coming" as we left.

Also, they've expanded their hours, which is welcome news. I can't wait to go back again, hopefully it will be less than 4 months til my next visit.
