Madison, WI lunch
My wife and I will be passing through Madison on Saturday and are looking for lunch. Something local, good food, etc. Any cuisine, anywhere in or around town. Thanks.

A second for Marigold, both for breakfast and lunch. Here's the link. Curiously, the brunch menu for Sat. is gone from the site

It will be crowded on Saturday, but I would recommend The Marigold, down the street from Monona Terrace, where the farmer's market is currently located. Great sandwiches, eggs, soups, etc. Also on the square - The Old Fashioned, local Wisconsin fare. Cafe Soleil, the pastry & lunch outlet of the well-known locavore haven L'Etoile. Slightly off the square, a newcomer to the Madison dining scene that does knockout Brazilian-esqe salads & sandwiches, The Cabana Room. Or brunch at the local, great Laos place, Lao Laan-Xang. Those are my top five off the top of my head. Enjoy your visit!

re: itsbubbles
itsbubbles, you are clearly very familiar with the Madison dining scene. Would you mind adding your thoughts to the topic I started at www.chowhound.com/topics/462929 ? I will be treating a UW freshman to Sunday brunch soon and I'm trying to decide among Café Continental, Cocoliquot, Sardine, Eldorado Grill, and Tex Tubb's Taco Palace. (I was warned off Nau-Ti-Gal.) Thanks!
