Does anyone know of a market or store selling Brazilian products in Manhattan?
There are some little markets on little brazil st (46th). But there is a HUGE grocery store in Newark that sells EVERYTHING brazilian. It's incredible It's like being in a supermarket in Brazil. There is that main street in the ironbound that has all the restaurants and this supermarket is one or two streets over (close, walking distance). I'm sorry but I can't remember the name...
You can buy Brazilian products at Buzios on 20 West 46th Street, between 5th and 6th aves. It is a small store but they have a good variety. If you are willing to go to Astoria I would suggest Rio Bonito Market on 32-86 47th St ( @ 34th Ave), it's a Brazilian supermarket.
Buzios is extremely friendly. 20 West 46th Street, between 5th and 6th 2nd floor, looks like a clothing store from the outside. Had at least 4 frozen fruits... $7. each. So its not cheap. I bought Cassava Flour, they had at least two kinds, Canjica Branca, a Curau mix, Churrasco dos pampas to experiment with... They had some refine jams, confrites that looked interesting from $4 to $9 a bottle. Cookies, beans, frozen sausages and meats. Medicinal herbs. A wall full of items in a small store so don't expect to be overwhelmed but a nice overall offering and experience. You can pick up a brazilian bikini and music while you are there.
