I held a reception for about 54 at Historic Waynesborough in Paoli. They are a bit of a pain to deal with (Phila Historic Properties) but the caterer is absolutely first class. As a CH, I assume that matters to you.

This past summer, I attended a wedding/reception at a place that resides within a couple hundred yards of my childhood home. It's now called the Carriage House. Here's their website:
If you look up to the right above the red-roof building in the wintertime, you could practically see where we used to live. :)

If you are looking for something a little different, try the Mercer Museum in Doylestown (http://www.mercermuseum.org/facility_rentals.htm). What's nice is that while pictures are being taken, guests can walk through this very unique museum.

Catering done by Memorable Affairs (www.memorableaffairs.com), who does a very nice job.

You don't say how much you wish to spend but the most exquisite landscaping site ever with very good food is Pond in Radnor.
And in September it would be ideal!
