Demo Kitchens and Cooking Classes

Does anyone know of a demo kitchen that regularly hosts cooking classes in downtown Chicago?

Thanks for the great suggestions. Just wanted to let you know that we had our event at the Merchandise Mart Chopping Block and it was a great success. What a great space! and the staff was ever so helpful.

These are great suggestions. I had found and am looking into the Kendall College kitchen but did not know about the others. I'll let you know which one we end up using.

The Walton St. location of Chicago's SUr La Table has classes too:

There is also a demo kitchen that is located on the ground floor of the Merchandise Mart in downtown Chicago. The name of the place escapes me at this point.

I hosted a corporate event at the Marshall Field's (it'll just never be Macy's) State Street Culinary Institute. It was great, they allow you to bring your own wines and work with the chosen faculty chef to design a menu. We did a taste of Tuscany for about 30 people and it was great.

I think that the Calphalon Center has switched over to all "private events" too:

The Culinary Department at Kendall College has a wonderful demonstration kitchen, with classroom seating (arranged amphitheater style) for perhaps 100 people. They may even have more than one demonstration kitchen, but I know they have that one and it's a terrific setup. It's not right downtown, but very close:

            Kendall College
900 North Branch Street (West of Halsted Street, North of Chicago Avenue)
