Per Se - What are the Can't Miss Add-Ons?

My husband and I will be eating at Per Se over New Year's weekend. I keep reading about add-ons to the menu for an extra charge - I think the foie gras is one, for example. Could you give me an idea of some of the standard add-ons Per Se offers, how much they are and what are the can miss and can't miss ones? Thanks!

    1. The menu changes all the time. Add ons usually include truffles shavings on a dish or two although offhand I can't remember the supplement charges.

Make sure you take a good whiff if they bring you the truffle box. It's quite heavenly.

Actually, come to think of it. Once we went there the day before New Years and they had a special holiday menu (along with the vegetarian and the regular) that was about 100 dollars more. It was truffle and other delicacy filled. I splurged. It was great. Don't know if they'll do that this year though.

Be sure to write and tell us all about your meal!

        1. I have not been able to resist their foie gras choice, which, last time we dined there, added $30 to the bill. I'm sure it is more now, if they still serve it. It was heavenly.

Here is an example of their impeccable service. When I had enjoyed only about a third of their toasted, heavenly light "brioche" that (among other goodies) accompanied the foie gras, suddenly it disappeared, and in its place, on a new plate, was a new piece of "brioche" - and I heard the smiling words: "Now it is warm again".

          Enjoy.

            1. If they have the Waygu steak, it cost a fortune, but was easily the best steak I ever had. Quite a bit better than any I had at Peter Luger.

                1. Thanks everyone! These are great suggestions (and they are making me hungry) - keep them coming!

Hello we were there two Sundays ago, and I am ashamed to say I went for the white truffle supplement. Might as well go the full hog was my thinking.. my server was very generous whilst shaving the proudly presented truffle but the risotto iteslf was a bit more gloopy than I expected. However with all that truffle I wasn't that bothered. Would I pay it again though? Probably not..
