Anyone know any sit down restaurants that offer this on their menu? I'll pretty much travel anywhere in the GTA, however, the closer to downtown the better.

is Kifto anything like it? It's an Ethiopian dish. I have had it raw at Queen of Sheba. Addis Abbaba served it to me cooked, but I'm sure if asked they would serve it raw if asked...

If you are refering to the raw kibbeh, it is pretty hard to find. I get my kibbeh balls from the Armenian Kitchen. Tabule on Yonge carries them too, but I have yet to see the raw version in TO. Let us know if you find some, I haven't had it in a really long time.

Yeah, I am looking for the raw stuff. I've eaten it at countless Middle Eastern restaurants across the US but I have yet to find it here. It is pretty frustrating. I may have to attempt making them myself but having never done it before I'm sure I will get satisfaction out of making it but the taste will be severely lacking.

How is the food otherwise? Ambiance isn't really too much of a factor for me, I'm just concerned about good food.

I made them a few weeks ago and they were great. Ground lamb from Cumbrae and several other ingredients, including the usual ME flavourings. Shaped like a cigar around a skewer, chilled to set, and grilled on a grill pan. Seriously good chow.
