Oysters

Looking for a place that has nice atmosphere, good beer and a selection of oysters. Not Neptune! It's good, but can get crazy. Nothing too fancy.TIA

This time of year you see oysters pop up in places like Beacon Street Tavern and the like. I dont mind the Summer Shack when you really have a craving...by good beer, if you don't mean the standard Guinness, Harp, UFO, Harpoon IPA, Bud Light, Sam Adams, if you find the combo, please let me know :)

I like all those previously mentioned.

oh, and Redbones has oysters the week of Lent...Duxbury and I think they were $1-1.50 :)

On the other side of the river, East Coast Grill in Inman Square has an excellent raw bar. Beer selection isn't encyclopedic, but the quality is good.

I've heard good things about the raw bar at Central Kitchen, but I have no firsthand oyster experience there.

They do a fantastic job with moules frites so perhaps that translates to oysters...

Places like the Publick House and Deep Ellum should have oysters, they should just buy a couple dozen daily at first, I'd be there every night!

The downstairs oyster bar at the Park Square Legal Seafoods location. Quieter than the upstairs bar, and still has the same quality of oysters (and I've always found Legal's to be impeccable).

Although Legal is a chain and everything should theoretically be the same at the other locations, I haven't liked any of the other locations' bars as much.

i'd steer you to McCormick and Schmick (theater district location only), 28 Degrees and Great Bay. all are nice places with $1 oyster happy hours.

Perhaps B&G Oysters but it may be a little pricey?

B&G is my go to spot for oysters. It may be pricey but I don't think their oysters are priced any more than any other similar spot. Other than that, it is a fairly casual atmosphere.
