Goodbye Benjapon's, Hello Joey's Thai Cafe
Got back from Thanksgiving to discover that Benjapon's is no more. I shall always remember it as the best Thai food available between Boloco and Subway.
Already open in its place is Joey's Thai Cafe. Haven't tried the food, but with the unfortunate slogan of "Happy in. Happy out," I have little intention of breaking the seal.

Before it was Benjapon's there was a great thai place there - I used to go all the time. Benjapon's was NOT very good - but the new place is worth at least *trying* even if there slogan is bad.

Hey, don't let me stop you; chow exploration is what being a CH is all about.
I agree that Fusion Express wasn't bad, but with other good Thai in the area (Sugar and Spice is my favorite), I didn't get there much.

"Happy in, Happy out" doesn't sound THAT bad. ;)
But more effective would be "Unhappy in...."

Is it certain that this place isn't a reiteration of Benjapon's? They seemed to be into making things cute-sy while serving pointless food.
I went to Benjapon's a grand total of one time--Penang red curry had exactly one vegetable--slices of dry, bitter, old eggplant and chicken larb seemed to be nothing but red onion larb. Cheap but yuk, yuk yuk. (That's why it was cheap.)

Different owners, as I understand it. I think that Benjapon herself has left the business to get married (and presumably Joey has bought it...)

I'd prefer not to have to see it come out.... but why do we always look to make sure?
