The aussies we have had visit us when we lived in the city were just super impressed by the quality and low price of food. We took one for french to Tournesol in LIC and he LOVED it. We took another to Il Bagatto in the EV. Sydney is such a huge city with so many types of food that he won't be impressed by Chinese or Thai food. I would just pick places that you love. Also, take him to a real Jewish style deli and/or bagel place.
