New Year's Eve?

GyroBall Nov 25, 2007 07:23 AM

My wife and I are considering going to one of the area's finer restaurants for New Year's Eve. What are your thoughts about the general quality of NYE pre fix dinners compared to business as usual fare? I (of course) expect the price will be more than usual, but what is your perspective? Any good stories or recommendations? Thanks.

What geographical area are you looking for recs? Any particular price range, likes/dislikes?

Anywhere in DC, NOVA, or Alex. We are thinking of Restaurant Eve.

      Wondering about NYE specifically...

I ate in the Tasting Room at Restaurant Eve on the last two New Year's Eves. Both times were terrific. It's a fixed price, multi-course meal with two choices for each course. My GF and I just tell to bring one of everything. They also offer an excellent wine pairing but I think that is a bit much with so many courses. We just buy by the glass usually or sometimes a bottle. Figure about $600 with tax/tip for two. Another $150 or so if you do the wine pariing. And, yes, the meal is worth every cent !

Go with Eve, if they aren't already booked.
