Great meal in or near Seal Beach?

I would like to give a gift certificate for a great meal to a couple who live in Seal Beach. I've not been there and don't know the area at all (and don't want to come out and ask them directly, at least not yet). She is a remarkable chef; they both enjoy good food. I'd like to give them something special. Any suggestions?

I might try crossing the border into Long Beach and see if Frenchy's Bistro offers a gift certificate. L'Opera would be my second choice (there are better places, but it is an experience)

Frenchy's does; I received one a couple of years ago, and we had a wonderful meal there. You also might try the new Tracht's, in downtown LB, in the Radisson hotel. While Walt's is good, I think Frenchy's or Tracht's, or Christy's in LB, make a more impressive gift for someone who's a "remarkable chef".

I second Restaurant Koi for sushi. Beachwood BBQ on Main for, well, obviously, BBQ. Also, I think it's called Walt's Warf, for seafood, also on Main.
