What are the best German brands for kitchen utensils (wine opener, knifes, etc.) available in Toronto or online shopping? Where could I find them? I wish to buy a few items as Christmas gifts. Many thanks!

BTW, what's the brand's name with the logo looking like 2 people side by side? I have a wine opener with this logo, however, I forgot its name.

Your wine opener is a Henckels. Henckels and Wusthoff are the two big name German cutlery houses. Henckels has quite a few 'cheap' grade lines, easily distinguished from their higher end lines because the logo has only one 'person' instead of two. Then again, they also have a cheaper line with the two person logo, so do your research.

Aside from knives though, you may be better off buying other makers' gear depending on what it is you're buying.
