Eurostar dining?

ChicagoKat Nov 24, 2007 03:59 PM

Has anyone upgraded to 'leisure select' on eurostar to experience the '3 course dining w/fine wine'?. I am taking an 8pm train, and wondering if it actually might be worth it, or should I just grab a sandwich before going on board. Last time I took the chunnel and purchased a sandwich on board the train, it was god awful!

I think it is the same as the food/wine in business class. It is very similar to aircraft food, probably a bit better than economy flights, but not as good as business class IMO. Although we did manage non-stop champagne from London to Paris once....!

I would not upgrade for the food/wine (there is more space etc.) - grab some wine (screw cap) and a sandwich at Pret/M&S before going and you won't be held hostage to what's available at the station.
