arab style pizza??

I once read a review of a take out restaurant that has "arab style pizza". The reviewer raved about the food at this take out restaurant. I can't remember the exact location. I think it was in a strip mall on Dufferin, or on Finch..... I lost the review, and hence the name of the restaurant . Any one have a thought??? I would appreciate it. l

  1. I remember reading about Pizza Pide on this board which serves Turkish pizza - is that what you mean? I think it's around Danforth or Gerard and Pape - I've had it on my list to try for a while.

Babos Donerpoint on Eglinton West also serves a Turkish pizza. It can also be called Lacmajun (spelling?). I first had this as Armenian pizza. It's ground beef or maybe lamb with some tomato and spices on a very thin crust. When it's served, you squeeze fresh lemon juice on it. Many Middle Eastern, Persian, Armenian stores sell them pre-made in the fridge or freezer--usually in packages of 6 or 10. I got some recently at Arz on Lawrence E. Inexpensive and very tasty!
Possibly the OP is referring to something else, but these are fantastic.

You can also buy this Lacmajun flat bread at a Persian store/bakery in Richmond Hill. It is better at Arz as it is brought in, not made at premises on Yonge Street.. The location is on the east side of Yonge St. just north of the LCBO/Beer Store in the Dairy Queen Plaza!

Pizza Pide is on Gerrard, at Pape.

The place I read about is definitely north of Eglington and West of Bathurst........
