Less than $60 for 2 within walking distance of Hollywood & Highland

I'm looking for dinner recs for an adventurous 9 yr old and mom before a screening at the El Capitan. We like everything, but we're not looking for sushi, as we have a few favorites in that category. Would like to stay under $60 for the two of us.

I hate to do this because I have not eaten there, but maybe others can chime in.
25th Degrees is supposed to be a good hamburger place at Roosevelt hotel.
Maybe too much for a 9 yr old?

I have eaten at the hotel's main restaruant though and it was nothing special. Not bad, just not great.

I've eaten at Skoobys and it's pretty good. The young ones I took loved it!

I've only been there a few times. I like the burgers and fries, although the latter come in huge portions -- one order is more than enough for two. And the burgers may be too much for a child's appetite.

Other CHers have complained about inconsistencies in the food. And many including myself have noted the very slow service -- probably best to avoid it if you're on a schedule to see a show.

Skoobys hot dogs and fries. I can't vouch for the dogs, but the fries are hands down the best in LA. Then get a Beard Papa cream puff for dessert.

Probably under $20 for the two of you.

Try Lift in the ground floor of the renovated Hillview Apartment building. Here is my previous post:

lucky devil's is probably your best bet. they've got an extensive menu of gourmet burgers, salads, sandwiches & milkshakes...should satisfy both you & your 9-year-old.

lucky devil's for sure - there's an italian place in the hollywood/highland center that looked okay but can't vouch for it

The Kobe beef chili cheese fries at Lucky Devils are absolutely killer...
