Kid Friendly restaurant in Downtown Calgary

I am a nanny and I am taking my charges downtown on the train, to the devonian gardens and then we will have dinner. The train ride is the thrilling part for them! We usually do this in the morning and have lunch (often at the Sunterra marktplace or in McNally Robinson), so I have no idea where a great place for dinner would be.

1.Do not want to walk far
2. The kids are 5 and 19 months
3. Do not want to be there for a really long time (under an hour)

Thanks

Wow, that's a tough one, how about Flames Central? Just Kidding! The only thing that comes to mind is perhaps Earl's in Bankers Hall. I know it gets a bad rap on here but I think it would do in a pinch.

No. Other earls, yes, but that one is solidly happy hour. Not a place for kids.

We were just talking about this- about how Portland (for example, maybe the best example) is full of places that are kid friendly, but Calgary is horrible in this regard. The resto at McNally Robinson IS open for dinner too, so that might be a fallback.

Yah, I was wondering about that. But I was thinking they could perhaps sit away from the action in the restaurant part. Anyway, the only other thing I can think of is the food court in the Lancaster Building. The problem there is I'm not sure any of the Kiosks are open for dinner.

The few times I've been to Milestones, I have seen kids there.

Divino might work because it's not far and it's loud and busy so kids would fit right in. It also has excellent pizza, which, as I understand it, kids love. But it's also slow - I can't imagine you getting in and out under an hour.

I agree that Milestones might be a good choice - it's like earl's, but the restaurant is less cocktail-y than earl's Banker's Hall.

John is right though - downtown isn't really kid friendly in this City - either at lunch or at dinner: lots of business lunches and after work drinks.

When we're downtown we take the kids(now 6, almost 3, and 18mo.) to Thomson's Restaurant at the Hyatt - excellent menu for the adults and a kid's menu & high chairs too...and there's a c-train stop out front(closer to Telus Convention Centre but still on the same block, nearest entrance to the Hyatt is on Centre street just south of 7th Av). Dinner is served 5:00pm-9:30pm, reservations are recommended.

The Old Spaghetti Factory in Eau Claire is usually packed with families. Good bang for the buck too.

The Old Spaghetti Factory would be a bit of a walk from Devonian with two kids. Plus the OP said there is a 19 month old in the mix, which may mean a stroller. Doesn't that Spaghetti Factory have a flight of stairs at the entrance?
