Enroute recs, Austin to Colorado

We're going to have a number of drives from the Hill Country to Colorado and would like some recommendations on where to eat en route. We take the back roads through Llano to Abilene then I20 and US84 to Lubbock, Amarillo, Dumas and up through OK to Lamar.

I found a nice Thai place in Canyon last week but don't recall the name.

Help a brother out here.

Thanks in advance.

  1. If you're going through Abilene, a stop at Harold's Pit BBQ on Walnut is a MUST! He is not open on Sundays, and is more of a lunch place. The line will be out the door, but be patient becuse it moves quickly and is SO worth the wait!

Thanks Christie; I've actually eaten there back when I still worked, one of my clients in Abilene took me there every time I was up. It's too early to eat there on the way up to CO, but I'm putting it on my list for the return trips, usually about noon when I hit Abilene on the return.

      Anyone else?
