Sam's Bagels in Larchmont Village

Have passed by Sam's Bagels on Larchmont many times and wanted to know if their bagels are worth stopping in for. Thanks in advance!

Must say I'm not much of a fan either. Too doughy. Not crisp enough on the outside. Just kinda blah. I've started to make my own bagels (surprisingly not difficult). They come out much better than what I've found so far.

Stopped by Sam's over the weekend and was very disappointed with their bagels which I felt were flavorless and very "cakey" and a notch better than Goldstein's which isn't saying much.

You better hurry if you want to try Sam's bagels. The greedy new owner of the building is kicking them out.

Larchmont is getting crazy. So many good places are closing down because of rising property costs and greedy landlords. Pinkberry kicked out a cafe that had been there for years, and now it is empty most of the time, and La Luna is gone. So sad.

Just had Sam's Bagels today for lunch. The turkey pastrami sandwich on toasted onion and cheese bagel was excellent. The bagel itself was large, very lightly toasted on the outside while still moist on the inside. My husband had the pizza bagel, which had plenty of mozzarella cheese and sauce - perfectly toasted. We got a chocolate chip bagel for desert and it also had that perfectly moist, yet firm feeling to it that a bagel should have. I would definitely recommend this spot if you are in the general area...worth a bit of a trek even...

They're not bad. Better than Noah's, not as good as Brooklyn Bagels.
