Orange County Japanese. Help!

Any recommendations for Japanese food in Laguna area. Thinking of trying Ichibiri for Benihana type fun. Thoughts? Thanks. Jeremy

    Try Kappo Sui where Santa Ana, Costa Mesa and Newport Beach collide, hidden at the end of a small strip center. The place can best be described as a Japanese pub. They serve sushi as well as delicious cooked Japanese pub grub. Highly recommended

    Clientele is mainly Japanese ex-pats.

      Don't miss the Shrimp Croquette, Spinach Bacon Salad, Miso Filet, and the specials at Kappo Sui.

      Blue Fin on PCH just north of Laguna. It is not Ichibiri but it is absolutely delicious sushi and great specials, too. They use black bean edamame and it tastes like sweet corn. My daughter is visiting for the Thanksgiving weekend and we are going there for lunch one day. They open daily at 11:30 for lunch.
