Need East Lakeview Feedback

Hi Everyone,

I was given the task to pick a place for a date tonight in my neighborhood. There are several places right around my place that I have never been to. I was wondering if you could let me know your thoughts.....

There's Matzuyama, Ping pong, Adesso, Jacks on Halstead, and any good words about the new Wilde??? Any feedback would be much appreciated!

  1. Jacks on Halsted is a great place for a date. The food and drinks are really good and the atmosphere is romantic (although sometimes loud).

Ping Pong has good food, but the decor is pretty stark and it gets very loud. It would be fine, but I think Jack's is more conducive to a date.

I haven't been to the others, so I'm not much help on them.

    1. I realize it's too late to be any help this time, but for future reference, Angelina Ristorante on Broadway at Addison is a great little date place. Very cozy and romantic feeling, and the food is good. I'd pick that over Adesso for Italian in the neighborhood any day.

      1. My favorite place in Lakeview is HB on Halsted/Roscoe. The food and service are terrific! I think Ping Pong (try the Pear Martini) and it's neighbor Wakamono are both great and the atmosphere for both is minimal but excellent.

Still - HB is best and is BYOB.
