Best Fish & Chips in Miami?

Someone in my house is craving for this. Any suggestion?

  1. Clarke's in South Beach is a great place to go. It's an Irish Pub and they have great burgers and truffle fries too.

I opened this thread about to suggest Clarke's also... Great burgers and Mac n Cheese also. The steak sandwich is tasty too.

Just want to thank your recommendation. We went there last night. The place has nice deco, and food is pretty good. And it's nice that they know to bring the malt vinegar without asking for it. However, my hubby was a bit disappointed that the fish was farm raised tilapia.

But overall, service and food is not bad so we may go back to try something else on their menu.

Their burgers, steak sandwich, roast beef and mac n' cheese there are the best things on the menu. The truffle fries are pretty stellar too, though I am a little tired of that trend.

    2. I thought Nexxt Cafe also had pretty good Fish & Chips. But I've heard the best were at The Office Music Cafe + Eatery, a neighorhood joint in Miami Beach. Not sure how it compares with Clarke's since I've never been there.

The Gables Diner has great fish and chips, and the coleslaw that comes with it is light and crisp. I had fish and chips at Titanic (near the UM) a few weeks ago, but cannot recomend it, they add Hops to the batter (they are a brewerary after all) and I felt that the batter was lumpy rather than light and crunchy. I am not sure how to describe it, but I think I will stick with a burger when I am there.

Oh I forgot... the only downer to the fish & chips at Nexxt Cafe was that the cole slaw that came with it was, for a lack of a better word at the moment, bleah.

        2. JohnMartin's in the Gables are pretty good. The fish moreso than the chips.
