LA Times' Michelin Guide Critique [Moved from Los Angeles Area board]

Wow - Leslie Brenner's article in today's food section is scathing (and eye opening). Makes me think the new LA guide was assembled by amateurs. When I read earlier about the leak I thought they'd made some relatively decent choices, but now I'm not sure I care what they think. Too bad so many rely on those things. Thoughts?

I enjoyed this article this morning as well. I think that the Michelin guide just will not hold the weight here that it does in Europe. It just seems like it was thrown together at the last minute. I'll rely on the Chowhound rating system instead ;) Not that I can afford those restaurants in there anyway.

I still think some of the starred choices are good. Reading this LAT article alone made me cringe, now I can't go near the michelin guide. Michelin: guide to how not to write and how not to eat.
