Great value lunch menu - London?

  • 5

hi all

would love to hear any suggestions of restaurants in central(ish) london that do a great value lunch menu (midweek)..

I'm not talking about anywhere particularly fancy or stuffy, but somewhere that does great food and would be considered pricey at dinner time.

I'm not restricting myself to any sort of cuisine, so all suggestions (and rough prices) welcome!

price range: £15-20 per head

many thanks..

  1. Arbutus on Frith Street do a lunch menu for £15-17, i believe.
You can also eat for £20 a head at Hakkasan at lunch if you stick to the dim sum menu.
Pierre Victoire on Dean St isn't bad either - the two course lunch menu is around £7 if I remember correctly.

Always check the website of any restaurant you'd like to eat that is a little pricey, because damn near all of them have decent lunch deals. Obviously it's worth checking toptable too. Here are some suggestions:

Moti Mahal - (Great Queen Street - Indian)

Galvin at Windows is currently offering 2 courses and a glass of something for £19.50.

      Kenza - (Devonshire Square EC2 - Moroccan) - 2 courses for 12.50

Le Saint Julien - (Long Lane EC1 - French) - 50% off the food bill at lunch.

      St Germain - (Farringdon - French) - 2 courses for £14.

The Zetter - (EC1 - Mediterranean) - glass of prosecco and 20% off the bill.

      Awana - (SW3 - Malaysian) - £12.50 for 2 courses, £15 for 3.

L'Atelier de Joel Robuchon has a set menu at lunch and dinner too.

Zagat covered some great under and over £25 lunch options in their newsletter this week:

Lunch at L'Atelier or Arbutus for under £20 is good deal!

    2. Stretch your budget just slightly and go to Galvin Bistrot de Luxe in Baker St. £15.50 for the Menu Prix Fixe comprising 3 courses with a choice of 2 dishes each course. Add a glass of wine and a coffee and you're under £25. It's fab!! I ate there (again) yesterday - full report to follow soon at www.thebigblackpudding.com

      1. For a quick and satisfying lunch, I like Miso and often go to the one at Hoxton Square. Service is always quick and I generally spend less than £10 - 12 (including tip) . There are other locarions around London
