Need wine tasting in December
So all the local wine shops seem to have closed their tastings in December.
Anyone know of any places to do a good tasting (and shopping afterwards) from December 23-December 28?
Thanks in advance

Don't know what their end-of-December schedule is, but the Wine Exchange in Orange County is one of the best wine stores in the area. They have regular weekend tastings and a fantastic selection of wine. This link is for their events calendar:

Even though only 3 shown for the month of December, here is a good site for many tastings in other months of the year:

you should check out the san antonio winery in downtown la. the only existing winery in the city. the restaurant does a very nice cafeteria style lunch/dinner, and the new generation of the riboli family has been doing a good job of blending some very nice wines. they have music on the weekends.

re: I make my own pickles
In Long Beach, the Wine Crush has tastings in December. It is a beautiful store that has a nice 'backyard' to enjoy your tastings. They also host events and fundraisers. I've been to a couple of fundraisers for Team in Training and have had a wonderful time.
There are some other wine stores such as The Village Tasting Room (never been), The Wine Country (great resource, but not much for atmosphere), and Morry's of Naples (They have a great back room wine bar).

As with 'slacker' I'm not quite sure what you mean by local. But for the fact you're posting on the L.A Area board I'm guessing you mean So. Cal. and not Napa Valley wine country. I don't know how many 'wine shops'/wineries you've checked on but...A Google search turned up website, totalescape.com, with a page that lists 40 So. Cal. wineries. I don't know how many of these are closed for 'the holidays' but out of the 40 you should or might be able to find one open during the period you've mentioned. Still it might be difficult. Click on the link below.
