NYC Dec. 17-20
I know that there are MILLIONS of posts on NYC dining, but I have a few specific questions. We will be there for three nights and want to do one over the top dinner. We have been to Daniel and Le Cirque. Daniel was the best dinner of my life. I want something to match that, but I think Per Se is a little too pricey. I'm willing to spend 500 or so, but 1000 is too much and I will need wine to go with my dinner! Very important!
So I've been looking at Jean Georges and 11 Madison Park. Which is better? My husband is generally a meat eater and we both enjoy French cuisine. Can we match or surpass Daniel without going too far above Daniel budget (we spent about 450 there...)? Food is most important, followed by service and decor.
I would also like to try a more authentic NYC restaurant--something less well-known, if you will. Though I love the "big names," I also want to try something up and coming, less "famous" or "popular". We love French, Italian, American, etc. I also love to get "off the beaten path." We are staying at the Marriott in the 50's on the East Side (can't remember exactly).
I'm curious about the following and what types of atmospheres these restaurants have: Blue Hill, Del Posto, Telepan, L'Impero...
Any advice you can give is greatly appreciated!
