Mother of four Nov 20, 2007 05:17 PM

Has anyone heard of this coffee system? I was just talking to my son and he mentioned it, as I was talking to him I Googled it. Sort'a strange, but people seem to like it. Love to hear from anyone who has tried it.

I love my toddy maker. It makes the smoothest, most intense iced coffee. You just have to be make sure to use coarsely ground coffee (not drip ground coffee which is finer) and keep the ratio of coffee to water exactly one pound to one gallon.

I don't like to heat it up for hot coffee though, I think it loses flavor.

I've had one for years, and really love it in the summertime! Makes great iced coffee. I never heat the extract -- just add hot water to it.

Here is a link to a bunch of threads on Chowhound that have discussed it. I've seen it more under cold brew coffee

I love it - I wouldn't survive summer without it.

Great for iced. Not great for anything else.
