After reading the Chron. article on Farmer Brown, I'm going to be heading over there this week. Anyone been yet? If so what's your take on the place and how's the fried chicken??

I have high hopes for this place. Great ambiance without too much pretension. Overall the prices seem fair. Hilights from my recent dinner: Watermelon Margarita was delicious and I especially like the "hot" sugar rim. Appetizer: Crab Imperial - for all the seasoning in this dish, I would not have known it was crab or tuna. It was also room temperature which I'm not sure is intended. It seems like a dish you'd expect to be warm. Fried chicken entree consisted of a healthy 3 pc serving with mac 'n' cheese. The chicken coating was crisp and tasty, the chicken leg moist but the breast slightly on the dry side. The mac and cheese was tasty, sufficiently cheesy, and not at all the gloppy, runny mess you can't help but anticipate. But again this item was just room temp while the chicken was piping hot. The kitchen obviously needs to be more attentive to the temperature of their dishes. Finished with the key lime pie which tasted more of sweetener than key limes. It was a very good pie and exceptional crust. Just wish there were more of that key lime kick. I will go back to measure their progress and with them the best.
