It's a black eyed pea dip served with tortilla chips. But I need suggestions. I saw 2 recipes on foodnetwork, one using olive oil and red wine vinegar and the other was vegetable oil with apple cider vinegar. Which one do you use? Should I add green pepper and red onion? I needed it something to serve this weekend for a football game-main course-chili, actually frito pie.
I tend to use the one with red wine vinegar but that's because I don't normally ahve apple cider vinegar or vegetable oil in the house. I also almost always add chopped green bell pepper and red oinon for color. If the tri-color bell peppers are on sale I add red, green, and yellow bell pepers. Make it early so the flavors really meld and have a great time.
